Title Criteria for Asphalt-Rubber Concrete in Civil Airport Pavements Volume 2- Evaluation of Asphalt-Rubber Concrete Final Report
Authors Hoyt, Denise; Lytton, Robert L. and Roberts, Freddy, Texas Transportation Institute
Publisher USDOT/FHWA
Pub. Date March, 1987
Pages 240
Keywords asphalt-rubber concrete, materials characterization, modified ILLIPAVE, rutting, cracking
Description Asphalt-rubber concrete and an asphalt concrete control were tested in the laboratory and materials characterizations were generated, including Marshall Stability, resilient modulus, fatigue and fracture properties, creep compliance, and permanent deformation properties. The characterization parameter and an airport runway model for a municipal airport were input into the modified ILLIPAVE computer program for analysis of rutting and cracking damage and the relative lives of the materials in each of four climatic zones. An economic evaluation was then performed comparing the costs and service lives of each material in each zone.
