Title The Chemical and Physical Properties of Asphalt-Rubber Mixtures
Author(s)
Publisher ADOT/USDOT/FHWA
Pub. Date March, 1977
Pages 95
Keywords Rheology, elastic modulus, asphalt, reclaimed rubber, asphalt-rubber, membranes, seal coats, mechanism of swelling, viscosity, strain recovery, yerzley buttons, spectrographs
Description The properties of asphalt rubber binder were investigated using unconventional testing. Testing included measurement of the swell of Yerzley buttons in asphalt and asphalt like materials to gain a better understanding of the swell of CRM in asphalt; viscosity using Asphalt Institute size 400 viscosity tubes; Rheometrics Mechanical Spectometer to evaluate the dynamic properties; and sliding plate microviscometer to evaluate strain recovery.
