| Description |
The corporation of the City of Brantford, in
conjunction with the Ontario Ministry of Environment and Energy, constructed a
rubber modified asphalt demonstration project in October, 1994. This project
was carried out as part of the ongoing MOEE Scrap Tire Project in accordance
with the Experimental Plan for 1994 established jointly by the MOEE and the
Ontario Ministry of Transportation. The purpose of the project was to evaluate
the use of crumb rubber modified asphalt cement binder in dense graded hot-mix
asphalt. The project involved resurfacing a 500 m section of Park Road North
from Dunsdon Street to Powerline Road with two lifts of hot mix asphalt
incorporating asphalt rubber binder.
