| Description |
Structural planks have been developed that use a
fiberglass outer shell filled with reclaimed tire rubber. Life estimates for
the planks are 50 years. Tests for noise attenuation show the planks to have
better properties than concrete and wood. Flame spread and the toxic
Characteristic Leach Procedure show the materials to be acceptable. Costs
appear to be comparable with conventional noise barriers presently used. |
