| Description |
The purpose of this paper is to forecast the demand
for recycled rubber in the United States. This forecast is based on limited
data and has been prepared for asphalt-rubber applications in pavement
construction, rehabilitation and maintenance. Applications of this new binder
system in hydraulic structures, roofs, etc. have not been considered. The
forecast is based on asphalt-rubber binders used for the following purposes. 1.
Binder for chip seals, 2. Binder for chip seal interlayers, 3. Binder for strip
chip seals (maintenance operation), 4. Crack pouring material (maintenance
operation) and 5. Binder for surface treatments (new construction or upgrading
a not-hard surfaced roadway).
