Description This summarizes a laboratory experiment aimed at characterizing the physical properties of paving asphalt cement modified with fine mesh crumb rubber modifier. The testing program was funded by Rouse Rubber Industries of Vicksburg, Mississippi. The rubber product used was GF-80A, a fine crumb rubber produced by Rouse Rubber Industries by wet ambient grinding. It is 100 percent finer than 180 UM with an average particle necessary to evaluate the rubber modified asphalt according to the new SUPERPAVE performance graded binder specification, which has now been provisionally adopted by AASHTO as MP1. Appendix A shows portions of the AASHTO specification.
